Wizard Robot brings a fresh, contemporary twist to popular songs [Nirvana, Nick Drake, Incubus] and modern compositions and jazz standards —reinterpreting them with modern grooves, creativearrangements, and a spirit of experimentation that engages both jazz fans and new listeners alike. Led by Daniel J Owens (piano), founder of the Center for Musical Arts in Sacramento, the band features Nate Furgason on bass and Alex Jenkins on drums. Wizard Robot has engaged audiences in venues such as The California Jazz Conservatory, Yoshi’s Oakland, The Bitter End and Pianos in New York City, and various jazz festivals including the Monterey Jazz Fest.
