Flint Float 2

Group Flint paddle from Sprewell Bluff Park to Flint River Outdoor Center. This is about 5-6 miles and a 3-4 hour minimum paddle. This section of the Flint River is characterized by Shoals and small rapids in between wider, deeper slower sections. There are numerous Class I & two Class II rapids. The rapids can be avoided but the drops in elevation cannot. This is considered an easy recreational paddle. I would not recommend this for people who have never kayaked at all our only on flat water. The current on this section is typically about 2 miles per hour with stronger flows at elevation drops. The Flint has little to no cell reception so download your tunes if you need them and be prepared to be without service for several hours. Please let me know if you'll be renting kayaks & gear from Flint River Outdoor Center. We should be able to arrange a self shuttle. FROC charges $10 parking per vehicle and $2 per kayak pull out fee. Please feel free to ask any questions you have. I've spent years kayaking the Flint, especially this section.
