Welcome to the Birds – Create a Flock

Each spring, migratory birds make their incredible journey back to our braided rivers – and we’re rolling out the welcome mat!

Join us for a free, family-friendly morning at Waikuku Beach Domain to help create The Flock – a colourful community art display celebrating the return of our native birds.

🖌 Decorate Your Bird – Register to receive a bird cut-out before the day, decorate it at home or on-site, then add it to our growing flock display.

🗣 Meet Local Experts – Learn about the amazing birds that visit our district, the challenges they face, and how we can help protect them.

🎨 Fun for Tamariki – Craft activities and opportunities to get creative.
