The Woodbury Volunteer Fire Dept will hold its annual three-evening carnival Aug 28-30 in Hollow Park. Admission is free every evening from opening at 6pm to the close at 10pm. The event will end on Saturday night with the big raffle drawing (9pm) and Park & Rec sponsored fireworks display at 9:15pm.
Ride all night wristbands are available each night $35, per person, per night - along with single ride tickets.
Hot food ranging from burgers, hotdogs, fired dough, french fries, corn-on-the-cob and more will be available including the perennial favorite of deep fat-fried Oreo cookies. The fire companies are holding the prices on all food items, The carnival will close Saturday night with the annual raffle draw and a spectacular fireworks demonstration.
“We’re closing down the summer and preparing for the school year,” says Fire Chief Janet B. Morgan. “We’re all neighbors enjoying a party.” She noted, however, that the Woodbury Fire Dept’s primary mission is always fire and rescue operations.
Carnival raffle tickets also remain unchanged from last year at $2 each or a book of 10 for $20.
