Volunteer Macro Survey

The search is on! Each fall, PRWC joins the statewide search for macroinvertebrates, or “river bugs,” that live in freshwater streams. These critters may be small, but they play a big role in measuring the health of our waterways. Join our staff to explore local streams, search for and identify these fascinating creatures, and learn what they reveal about stream health. Adults and children over age 10 (with an adult) are invited to participate, no experience needed!
