Rhythm @ Roots Parkinsons

Rhythm @ Roots PARKINSON’S, is a fun and uplifting drumming workshop designed for anyone living with Parkinsons. It's FREE to carers and £10 for attendees.

We have two new dates - June 1st & July 6th (both Sunday's to accommodate schedules) at 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

Come along to this NEW introductory event and let us introduce you to a beautiful culture. One where you will learn simple, traditional West African rhythms and songs with the team at Wooden Roots. You don’t need any prior musical experience, just bring your enthusiasm and a smile.

This pilot event is free to partners and carers and includes drum rental and a hot drink. The session combines drumming in a group setting and incorporates breaks for socialising over a hot cuppa in our beautiful custom designed premises!

We are located on Bentwaters Parks in Rendlesham, Suffolk, which is just outside Woodbridge. Rhythm @ Roots sessions are fun, friendly and cover a range of different workshops enjoying and creating music through many different channels including drumming, singing & dance. It is a space to create, grow and come together to build a supportive community. This particular workshop is designed for anyone living with Parkinsons Disease. Please note that we are working with a Clinical research fellow at Suffolk University creating a feasibility study on the outcomes of drumming whilst living with Parkinson's Disease. We set aside the last 15 minutes of the session to capture information for the study. Our findings to date have been very positive.
