Little Byrds prépare pour 2025 un tout nouveau programme intitulé “The Triumph of Harmony”. Pour ce projet, ils ont invité deux autres chanteurs expérimentés à les rejoindre pour former un sextuor à même d’interpréter de manière riche et précise un répertoire mêlant une sélection de madrigaux issus des recueils Il Trionfo di Dori et The Triumph of Oriana, et des compositions et arrangements de style close harmony.
La première partie du concert fait la part belle à la musique de la Renaissance italienne et anglaise. Il Trionfo di Dori (1592) et The Triumph of Oriana (1601) sont deux anthologies emblématiques du madrigal, reflétant l’apogée de la polyphonie. Tous deux rassemblent des compositeurs majeurs autour de thèmes symboliques - la nymphe Dori en Italie et la Reine Elisabeth I en Angleterre. Ces recueils mettent en lumière la richesse expressive du genre du madrigal, où les voix se répondent et s’entrelacent pour sublimer l’hommage poétique et susciter l’émotion collective.
La deuxième partie du concert se veut résolument plus moderne et populaire avec un répertoire qui inclut certains airs traditionnels connus de tous ou des chansons telles des Beatles, mais arrangés de façon close harmony. Cette technique vocale où les voix sont disposées de manière rapprochée met en valeur l’harmonie et l’équilibre des voix pour produire une sonorité riche et chaleureuse.

Little Byrds is preparing an entirely new programme for 2025 entitled “The Triumph of Harmony.” For this project, they have invited two other experienced singers to join them, forming a sextet capable of performing a repertoire that blends a selection of madrigals from the collections Il Trionfo di Dori and The Triumph of Oriana, along with compositions and arrangements in the close harmony style, with richness and precision.
The first part of the concert highlights Italian and English Renaissance music. Il Trionfo di Dori (1592) and The Triumph of Oriana (1601) are two iconic madrigal anthologies, reflecting the height of polyphonic music. Both bring together major composers around symbolic themes — the nymph Dori in Italy and Queen Elizabeth I in England. These collections showcase the expressive richness of the madrigal genre, where voices respond to and intertwine with one another to elevate poetic homage and stir collective emotion.
The second part of the concert takes a decidedly more modern and popular turn, featuring a repertoire that includes well-known traditional tunes and songs — such as those by the Beatles — arranged in close harmony style. This vocal technique, in which the voices are placed in close intervals, emphasises harmony and balance among the voices to produce a rich, warm sound.
