Join us in celebrating the great bon vivant, larger-than-life, soul-searching, magical mystic, Mr. Marke Leonard Slipp, and the wonderful moments he spent with us throughout this earthly existence.
Occurring three months after his passing, and on the weekend of his 76th birthday, we invite you to a joyous gathering of friends, family, and loved ones, where we will share stories, memories, and music in Marke’s honour.
Doors will open at 2:30 pm to pre-mingle and connect. At 3:35 pm, there will be a screening of 'Totem: The Return of the G'psgolox Pole' (2003), a film directed by Gil Cardinal on which Marke worked as Editor and Assistant Director. This film was Marke's self-proclaimed "swan song" of his 38-year career as a filmmaker, and won Best Documentary at the ImagineNATIVE Film Festival and the Golden Sheaf at the Yorkton Film Festival, among many other honours.
After the screening, there will be an open mic for music, personal tributes, and story sharing. To conclude, live music performed by Don Denney!
A cash bar will be available throughout the day, and small hors d'oeuvres will be served in the late afternoon. For those looking for a meal, the event is near many great restaurants within walking distance.
