Susan Dworkin, Dramatic Soprano
A voice of rare power and artistry, Susan Dworkin has captivated audiences for over 30 years with her commanding stage presence and extraordinary vocal ability. Her illustrious career has taken her to Carnegie Hall and prestigious international vocal competitions, solidifying her reputation as a world-class dramatic soprano.
Born and raised in Montreal, Susan’s musical journey began at a young age, eventually blossoming into a career defined by excellence, passion, and a deep commitment to the transformative power of music. As a dedicated voice teacher and choral director, she has spent decades nurturing aspiring singers, guiding them toward their own artistic potential. She currently leads the Little Town Choir in Wolfville, fostering community through song.
In June, Susan travels to Montreal to record a professional album of opera and classical song, capturing the richness of her voice and artistry. She also continues to refine her craft under the guidance of renowned New York City vocal coach, Dr. Michael Warren, whose mentorship has been instrumental in shaping her dynamic and powerful vocal technique.
A passionate advocate for animals and her community, Susan regularly uses her talents to raise funds for Safe Haven Animal Rescue, the Wolfville and Area Food Bank, and the SPCA. Gala Concert and Buffet is part of that mission. She is also thrilled to announce that she will return to the stage on November 16, 2025, for another concert fundraiser in support of Safe Haven Animal Rescue — a cause deeply close to her heart.
This Gala is particularly meaningful as Susan shares the stage with her daughter, Dr. Jossée MacInnis, an exceptional clarinetist. Together, they celebrate the unbreakable bond of music and family, creating an unforgettable experience for all.
