Museum Explorers – Our River
July 30 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free
Did you know the River Windrush has shaped Witney’s landscape and life for centuries?
To celebrate this beautiful local feature, we’re inviting you to join us from 10am–1pm on Wednesday 30th July 2025 at Witney and District Museum for a free, family-friendly drop-in workshop!
Come and get creative as we explore the sights, sounds, and wildlife of the Windrush! You can:
🎨 Make a big, beautiful river collage – Use colour, texture, and imagination to bring this special waterway to life.
🦆 Add plants, fish, birds and bridges – What do you see when you walk by the river?
📚 Learn about the river’s role in our town’s history – From mills to wildlife, the Windrush has always been part of Witney’s story.
No experience needed and all materials are provided. Children and young people under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This is a relaxed, drop-in event – come by any time between 10am and 1pm.
Entry to the museum is free. Donations welcome.
We’d love to see you there by the (paper) riverbank!
