Tech Teardown Day October 2025

Tech Tear Down Day is a full-day, hands-on simulation of what a real day as a repair technician looks like. It’s designed to help participants explore career pathways in tech repair and gain practical experience with the tools and tasks used in the field.

The day begins with an interactive rotation through job stations like diagnostics, intake, and customer service—giving participants a chance to see where their skills and interests align. After lunch (pizza’s on us!), participants will dive into a full Tech Tear Down, disassembling and reassembling real devices like MacBooks, Chromebooks, phones, and tablets.

By day’s end, students will earn their second microcredential: Industry Overview, and walk away with a personalized path toward WISE Certification and employment opportunities.

15- minute breaks are scheduled every 45-minutes, with snacks and water avilable throughout the day.

We enourage individuals to stay for the full day's events, however there is an optional mid-day pick up at 12:00 PM.

Parents are encourraged to drop their loved ones off at 9:30 AM and return at 2:30 PM for wrap-up and a microcredential ceremony.

Note for Parents & Support: Tech Teardown helps students explore their interests and assess their abilities in a real-world setting. Because our goal is to create pathways to independence, we kindly ask that students complete activities on their own, without parent or caregiver assistance. This allows our team to accurately evaluate each participant’s strengths and needs, and to support them in building the skills required for success. We intentionally keep our class sizes small, maintaining a maximum 1:3 student-to-instructor ratio. All instructors are WISE-certified, ensuring high-quality guidance throughout the workshop.

What's Next: Following Tech Teardown, you will recieve an invitation email with insturctions on how to sign up for the WISE Certification course. Classes can be taken online, or with in-person support.

- Phone and tablet repair: Disassemble and reassemble phones and tablets
