Join us to create a watercolor project which may be Holiday themed for personalized cards or be used as a gift.
Combining the elements of direct painting, incorporating negative space painting, wet-into-wet and glazing techniques participants may design their own composition, develop their selected subject using elements of design, value, and hard vs. soft edges to gain the desired effect.

Supplies:
Students will bring their own watercolors, brushes and paper (quality watercolor paper 140 lb. in various sizes) and any photo reference or subject matter they wish to paint. Recommend simple subject matter that can be modified and replicated. Instructor will provide resource images and may provide specialized materials as needed. Students will also learn to upload a PDF of their finished image into a website for personalization for printing though an external website of their choice.
About the Instructor:
Gretchen (Geri) Hurlbut is an artist and art therapist living and working in Winter Garden, FL. Geri holds a Masters Degree in Art Therapy and continues to develop her artistic skills. She has taught at the college and community level and enjoys painting and sketing on-site using local landmarks and landscapes. A lifelon student of art, she has studied with leaders in the field including Gretchen Lopez, Carla O’Connor, Don Andrews, Frank Web and Chenk Khee Chee, andThomas Schaller. Her work has been exhibited at the San Diego Watercolor Society, Converse College Milliken Gallery, SOBO Gallery and Winter Garden Town Hall.
