Presentation: Chef to Hacker

Description:

Transitioning into the world of cybersecurity can feel intimidating, especially when coming from a completely unrelated field. In this presentation, I’ll share my journey from a 20-year career as a chef to becoming a penetration tester. I'll discuss how I leveraged the skills I developed in the kitchen—like problem-solving under pressure, team management, and attention to detail—and infused them with a passion for technology to build a new career in information security.

Whether you're a student, a lifelong learner, or a professional looking to make a career change, this session will show you how to identify and adapt your unique strengths to this industry. You’ll discover that the skills you already have might be more relevant than you think.

Bio:

I have a strong track record of delivering successful outcomes and exceeding expectations in complex and dynamic environments.

Presentation: When Every Second Counts: Recovering Active Directory from a Cyberattack

Description:

Microsoft Active Directory (AD) is a key target for cyberattackers. When AD goes down, so do your operations. Yet most organizations lack an AD-specific recovery plan or rely on manual recovery, which can take days if not weeks.

Auditing your AD security stance and maintaining a solid incident response plan are vital protective steps. But AD recovery should also be a priority of any identity threat detection and response (ITDR) strategy. Join Chris Ingle, Senior Solution Architect, Semperis to discover how threat actors breach hybrid AD environments, how you can reduce the risk, and why hybrid AD recovery planning is vital to operational resilience. You’ll learn:

· How to detect vulnerabilities in hybrid AD environments

· How to reduce the risk of a breach that targets AD

· How to ensure, a fast, clean AD forest recovery post-attack

· Points to consider when developing an AD incident response or recovery plan
