Wednesday is an alternative rock band from Asheville, NC, formed in 2017 by Karly Hartzman, who also plays guitar and provides vocals. The current lineup includes Xandy Chelmis (pedal steel), Alan Miller (drums), Ethan Baechtold (bass), and MJ Lenderman (guitar), with the band's sound blending shoegaze, noise rock, and alternative country. Known for their narrative-heavy, Southern-influenced songwriting that often explores themes of the American South, the band has gained recognition for their unique storytelling and powerful, confessional lyrics, as seen on their critically acclaimed 2023 album Rat Saw God.
