Please join us for "Time on the Trail", Saturday, May 17th, 9-11AM!
For those unfamiliar with the Stuart and Emma Thomas Memorial Trail, come join others to walk and explore. If you know the trail well, try to find a friend who has never been and bring them for an introduction! Spring has sprung, wildflowers are up and the weather is just right for a walk!
Want to learn about bluebirds? Kay Cameron of the NC Bluebird Society will be teaching about bluebird nestbox monitoring with the birdhouses on the trail. One box already has a nest full of little blue eggs!
For anyone eager to help improve the trail, grab some gloves and help pull invasive plants and smooth eroded parts of the trail.
Landscape architect Tony McGee, who designed and built the Trail, will guide trail maintenance and repair.
Please meet at the Dr. C.B. Hauser trailhead, 949 Gillette Street at 9AM. The trailhead is located behind Paisley School off of Gillette Street (drive past the entrance to the school on Thurmond Street and turn onto Gillette Street). Parking is available at the trailhead and in the Paisley School parking lot next to the trailhead.
