Object of the Month: David Johnson’s ‘Natural Bridge, Virginia’

Object of the Month shines a spotlight on a selected piece from Reynolda’s permanent collection. For September, join Reynolda curator Allison Slaby for a closer look at "Natural Bridge, Virginia" (1860), an oil painting by Hudson River School artist David Johnson. Now recognized as a National Historic Landmark, the natural arch in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley became the subject for the painting that showcases Johnson’s ability to capture the American landscape.
