Reynolda’s annual community celebration has moved to the fall, but with the same amazing fun!
To coincide with "Camel City: Tobacco & Transformation, 1875-1964," Reynolda welcomes organizations in the community, including MUSE, Lam Museum of Anthropology, Delta Arts Center, Aperture, and more to bring you a day filled with creativity, learning, art, history, and community. Activities will take place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All activities and museum admission are free.
Have a story about R.J. Reynolds Tobacco? Did you work there or have family who did? During Community Day, MUSE will conduct oral history interviews to capture memories and voices that might otherwise be lost, preserving local histories and valuing the human experience.
Sample Schedule:
9:30 a.m. – Museum opens (free admission all day!)
10 a.m. – Special art-making activities* begin on the front lawn.
10:30 a.m. – Live performance by Carolina Music Ways—a band that brings North Carolina’s history to life through music (front lawn)*
2 p.m. – Art activities end on the front lawn
4:30 p.m. – The museum closes (though feel free to enjoy more of the grounds and gardens…always open daily from dawn to dusk!)
Pre-registration is encouraged but not required to attend.
*In case of inclement weather, the performances and hands-on art activities will be modified to take place inside the Museum.
