"Definitely, Different" A Disability Pride Month Special!
Mark your calendars, because we're not just having another event on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. We're bringing in the real deal. The kind of speaker who makes you sit up, lean in, nod your head and maybe even shed a tear or two (in a good way).
We're talking about Dr. Pam Cobler. Now, you might be thinking, “Who's Pam Cobler?” Honestly, she's a force of nature, a human exclamation point and someone whose story will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about resilience, advocacy and turning life's curveballs into actual home runs.
Why Pam? Because for this year’s Disability Pride Month, we’re celebrating the incredibly rich, vibrant and essential part of humanity that is disability.
And Pam? She embodies it. Her journey, from a life-altering spinal cord injury in 2001 to becoming a fierce advocate, prominent educator and even a published author and local elected official (yes, really!), is nothing short of awe-inspiring.
Think of it this way. When Pam’s life was thrown lemons, she didn't just make lemonade. She built a whole lemonade stand empire, wrote a children's book series about it and then ran for public office. She’s proof that “Definitely, Different” is more than a catchy title of her latest children’s book. It's a blueprint for being extraordinary.
Pam won’t tell us about overcoming obstacles. She'll show us how it's done. With every word, she'll remind us that disability isn't a deficit. It's a dimension. A unique perspective that enriches us all. And her message will be the kick in the pants (or hug, depending on what you need that day) we all need.
Info: Refreshments before, during and after Dr. Cobler’s remarks. It’s a perfect chance to mingle, chat about what you heard and enjoy a moment.

Info: After Dr. Cobler’s remarks, she will be available to sign copies of her heartwarming “Kuddle Kitty” children’s book series. Her latest in this series is no doubt titled, “Definitely Different,” an age-appropriate story on welcoming the ‘kitten and caboodle’ (get it!) of different backgrounds, the real magic that makes us all unique.
