Terpsicorps Theatre of Dance presents Appalachian Phoenix, a powerful new performance inspired by the real stories of kindness and perseverance in the wake of Hurricane Helene. This community-driven production celebrates the resilience, strength, and unity of Western North Carolina through breathtaking movement, music, and design.

Our world-class dancers bring to life the true stories of unsung heroes, making this performance deeply personal and meaningful.
🌎 Art Built from Community Effort
The performance features a stunning set made from 13,000 bottles, symbolizing the need they served and the devastation left behind. The WNC community came together to both salvage and prepare the bottles for the stage. plus... The Rising Phoenix Sculpture, designed by artists Sara Sanders and Chas Llewellyn at the UNCA STEAM Studio, honors the heroes of WNC and symbolizes community resilience will greet audience members in the lobby.
🎶 A Score Rooted in Community
Featuring WNC musicians River Guerguerian, Chris Rosser, Datrian Johnson, Madeline ILana, who collaborated with Jeff Schmitt on an original score, the music reflects the diverse voices of the region.
🌱 A Commitment to Sustainability
In partnership with Asheville GreenWorks, Appalachian Phoenix highlights the power of environmental stewardship through repurposed materials in set, costumes, and props.
