Lithogen Presents: Ice Road GPR - Operation & Data Collection Short Course

Lithogen Presents: Ice Road GPR - Operation & Data Collection Short Course, a course developed by Sensors and Software. This one day short course will teach attendees the fundamentals of GPR theory, and provide hands-on time with a variety of ice road GPRs using Lithogen's fleet of GPRs -- primarily the IceMap, but also Spidar-based SmartSleds and other systems. The course is designed for individuals who are technically competent with a computer and have been tasked with working on ice safely. A certificate will be provided after the course so that professionals can apply this towards continuing professional development hours.

The course agenda:

9am-4pm, break for lunch, coffee provided

• Basics of GPR
• Setting up the IceMap system
• Configuring data collection parameters
• Viewing & collecting data
• How to do IceCals
• Data interpretation
• Case examples
• Hands on with IceMap hardware
• Hands on with Sample data
• Other Ice GPR configurations

A demo license of the IceMap software will be provided by Sensors and Software for this course so that we can play with the sample data - attendees should provide their own Windows-based laptop and have admin privileges to install the software. If you need to install the software in advance, reach out.

Depending on the total number of attendees, this course may be taught in Lithogen's warehouse at 576 Roseberry St., Winnipeg, or in an adjacent building.
