Lithogen Presents: GPR Principles and Practice Short Course

Lithogen Inc. presents GPR Principles and Practice, a course developed by Sensors and Software. This two day short course will teach attendees the fundamentals of GPR theory (applicable to all GPR instruments), and provide hands-on time with a variety of GPRs using Lithogen's fleet of GPRs. The course is designed for individuals who are technically competent in fields such as: geosciences, soil sciences, civil engineering, or archeology. A certificate will be provided after the course so that professionals can apply this towards continuing professional development hours.

The course agenda:

Day 1 (9am-4pm, break for lunch, coffee provided)

• Basic GPR Theory
• More Advanced Theory
• Understanding GPR Images – Basic Concepts
• GPR Instrumentation
• Data Collection Settings
• Virtual Hands-on Data Collection
• First Hands-on – Four Noggin Systems
• Visualizing Data with Software
• Understanding GPR Images – Advanced Concepts
• Case Studies

Day 2(9am-4pm, break for lunch, coffee provided)

• AM:
• Hands-on data collection

• PM:
• Getting familiar with EKKO_Project V6R2
• Live demo version of EKKO_Project V6R2 using data collected in the morning
• Produce a basic report
• Additional Resources
• Closing discussion

A 14-day demo license of EKKO_Project V6R2 will be provided by Sensors and Software for this course so that we can play with the sample data - attendees should provide their own Windows-based laptop and have admin privileges to install the software. If you need to install the software in advance, reach out.

Depending on the total number of attendees, this course may be taught in Lithogen's warehouse at 576 Roseberry St., Winnipeg, or in an adjacent building.
