Paddle Manitoba invites you to our December Indoor Program Presentation: "Paddling the Yukon River" with RoseAnna Schick.
Join us on Thursday, December 4th, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, at the St. James Legion at 1755 Portage Avenue.
RoseAnna Schick has always loved a good wilderness adventure. Whether it was taking out canoe trips at Camp Stephens, enjoying paddling excursions with friends, or spending an entire summer rowing a York Boat to the Hudson Bay… she is typically keen to say “yes” when adventure comes calling. So, when her 28-year-old niece asked her to paddle the Yukon River from Whitehorse to Dawson City in 2023… just the two of them… and even though the idea scared her… how could she refuse?
RoseAnna is an entertainment publicist, a communications specialist, a magazine publisher, and a travel columnist. Her stories have appeared in magazines and newspapers across Canada, and on multiple digital platforms. A lifelong adventurer with a passion for the outdoors, RoseAnna has taken part in dozens of canoe trips over the years. Her most extreme once-in-a-lifetime adventure happened around the television series Quest for the Bay, when she was selected as part of an eight-person team that would re-enact an 1840's York boat trip from Winnipeg to the Hudson Bay.
