CTTAM is offering an Asset Management Fundamentals for Technicians & Technologists open to both members and non-members. The instructor, Chad Buhlin is a Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP) and founder of Buhlin Asset Management. He brings over a decade of experience working with municipal infrastructure projects across Canada, having held roles in both engineering consulting and municipal public works. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This full-day introductory workshop is designed to equip technicians and technologists with a foundational understanding of Asset Management (AM) principles and practices. Using real-world examples from municipal infrastructure - while drawing parallels to private sector asset systems - the course provides a practical and engaging overview of AM as a strategic discipline. Participants will gain a better understanding of how asset management supports long-term decision-making, service delivery, and risk mitigation across various industries.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Define asset management and explain its relevance to technicians and technologists
Describe the key components of an asset management system
Understand the role of lifecycle planning, levels of service, and risk management
Identify how asset information supports informed decision-making
