In conjunction with American Heart Month, the fourth annual free community-wide CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training event will be held February 5-7 at Baden Square in Winfield. This event is part of William Newton Healthcare Foundation’s Beats Go On community wellness initiative, with partners including Cowley College, Southwestern College, Udall Fire, USD 465 Winfield, USD 470 Arkansas City, William Newton Hospital, and Winfield Fire/EMS.
Participants will receive 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁/𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗣𝗥 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗔𝗘𝗗 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗔𝗡® 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 during each session.
Four sessions will be offered to the general public and one session for healthcare providers only.
New this year – we’ve added a 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 opportunity on Thursday, Feb. 5 from 4-5pm!
William Newton Hospital offers a monthly CPR class, which typically costs $30 for the public. However, through this outreach effort, community partners will be offering CPR certification at no cost.
Course completion cards will be issued by the American Heart Association. Each session is limited to 46 participants.
