For more than 3 months, a few dozen venerable monks have been walking 2300 miles in the US with one simple message - peace. At every stop they talk to people about mindfulness and peace and the present moment. No slogans. No signs. No alliances. Just peace.
The venerable monks will be finishing their journey in Washington DC sometime between February 11th and 13th.
And we honour that. A few weeks ago, a group of us gathered for a mindful meditation walk in Ojibway Park.
On February 7th we will be walking again, this time from the giant Canadian flag at the Riverfront, up to Ouellette Ave, west down Wyandotte St to Cameron Ave, and then back down by the Riverfront as we make our way back to our beautiful Canadian flag. We will be on the sidewalk for this walk. During this walk, we will be doing what the monks are - being mindful, being peaceful, sending out quiet prayers and intentions for peace, and walking with peace and love in our hearts. This will be a quiet walk, a reflective walk, a mindful meditation.
We welcome absolutely anyone who wishes to walk in peace with us. Adults, kids, friendly dogs on leashes ♥
Let us be clear - this is not a protest - we are not walking against anything. We are walking for peace and love. Simple.
