Explore the art and technique of sculptural felting by creating a collection of lifelike mushrooms. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to transform wool fibers into three-dimensional forms using the tools and methods of wet felting and needle felting. We’ll cover technical skills such as shaping, building structure, layering fibers, and achieving realistic surface textures. Attention will be given to color and wool blending, allowing you to create subtle tonal shifts and natural-looking finishes. You’ll also gain an understanding of how different types of wool behave, and how to use felting needles of varying gauges for precision and detail.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll not only have a set of strikingly realistic felted mushrooms, but also the knowledge and confidence to continue exploring felting as a sculptural art form. This session is ideal for both beginners seeking a solid foundation and experienced felters looking to refine their skills.
