THE GREAT SUNDAY ROAST – with the DUCK and the SWAN

Yes – It’s the Duck and the Swan in full flight – headling the Great Sunday Roast – a sportsmans afternoon at Melbourne Bowling Club (Windsor) featuring Wayne Carey and Dane Swan being their candid and colourful selves – with live musical entertainment by the Phil Para Band and two course Sunday Roast courtesy of the club’s amazing chef Mark.

Plus there’ll be an auction of previously unseen AFL & NRL memorabilia and bunch of other AFL Players in attendance to help us raise money for the Jimmy Whitehead - Family Fund.

SO GRAB A FEW MATES AND MAKE UP A TABLE OR JUST COME ON DOWN AND FOR A BRILLIANT AFTERNOON OF IRREVERENCE AND ENTERTAINMENT.

Wayne and Dane are two of the great players and characters of the game in a afternoon that’s guaranteed to be as colourful and contraversial as their careers. Individually they are brilliant – but both together is going to be a whole lot of fun.

Wayne Carey needs little introduction – he’s a player voted one of the best 50 players of all time. Dual premiership player, seven times all australian [four as captain], a hall of famer plus a list of awards to long to list. He’s a great speaker and entertainer you’ll remember him as as a commentator and host on the Fox Footy Channel, from Footy Classified and his radio commentary on 3AW.

… and it’s hard to miss Dane Swan’s extraordinary carreer – he’s a brownlow medalist, premiership player, five times all australian, a hall of famer and has a long list of other awards. He’s smart, fun and a raconteur who’s in high demand for sportsmans nights and other speaking engagements.

.. and the band - Phil Para plays music as hard as the Wayne and Dane played football.

Phil will open with an unplugged set with his son Denzil – followed by a couple of sets with his usual powerhouse trio, performing a range of rock / blues / latin fusion of classic covers such as Hendrix, Santana, Clapton, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan etc.

Proceeds from this event go to the continued support of the Whitehead family after the tragic loss of their young mother Briony via the “Jimmy Whitehead – Family Fund” supported by Melbourne Bowling Club and the bowling fraternity of Australia.
