𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐦/𝐒𝐚𝐩 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐨𝐧!
Join us for a special Full Moon Hike celebrating the March Worm Moon—also known as the Sap Moon—when the earth softens, sap begins to flow, and the first whispers of spring emerge.
As we walk the quiet trails by moonlight, we’ll explore the science and stories behind this transitional time of year. Learn how lunar cycles influence natural rhythms, discover the signs of early spring in the forest, and find out what “sugaring season” really means—from how trees move water to the chemistry of turning sap into syrup.
We’ll also talk about the phases of the moon, how animals and plants respond to changing light, and what indigenous names like “Worm Moon” can teach us about deep observation and seasonal awareness.
The evening ends in our cozy Sugarhouse, where you’ll warm up with a sample of fresh, hot maple syrup—straight from our sugar maples—and chat with our educators about the ecology of the season.
