2-Day Photography Workshop: What is a Photograph?

In this inspiring two-day workshop, NYC-based artist Barbara Kalina invites participants to explore, question, and redefine the photograph as both an artistic and imaginative tool. Together, we’ll look at the photograph not just as a record of reality, but as a space for creative expression and storytelling. Participants will view and discuss examples of both traditional and experimental photography, from the classics to boundary-pushing image makers, while considering how intent, technique, and context shape the way we see. Using cell phones or digital cameras, you'll have the chance to experiment with your own image making, creating photographs that express your vision, imagination, and voice.

This program is for adults, and teens 16+
