Show Up and Start: The Art and Life of Dorothy Ramsay Film Showing

Join us for a special screening of Show Up and Start: The Art and Life of Dorothy Ramsay, a moving 47-minute documentary directed by Neil Emery. The film celebrates the life, work, and determination of Lake District-based artist Dorothy Ramsay — and is sure to leave you feeling inspired.

This award-winning documentary explores Ramsay’s journey from her postwar childhood in northeast England, through her time at Camberwell School of Art, to her later years as a weaver, therapist, and full-time artist.

Complemented by a stunning soundtrack by award-winning foley artist Shelley Roden and celebrated US composer Jeffrey Roden, the film encapsulates the power of persistence and creativity.

There will also be an opportunity to meet and speak to the artist Dorothy Ramsay herself on the day! You may even be able to have a chat with the director Neil Emery.

Showings at 11am, 1pm & 2.30pm.
