Pitt-Johnstown Fall Reading Series presents: Torli Bush

Pitt-Johnstown is excited to welcome this year's visiting poet in the annual Fall Reading Series, Torli Bush, reading from their debut poetry collection, Requiem for a Red Bird, at 7pm in Blackington 131. The reading will be followed by a Q&A and book signing with the author.

Torli Bush is an engineer and poet from Webster Springs, WV. They hold an MFA in Creative Writing from West Virginia Wesleyan College and serve as a poetry co-editor for Heartwood Literary Magazine. Torli's first collection, Requiem for a Redbird, was named as a finalist for the Weatherford Award in Poetry, the Writer's Conference of Northern Appalachia Book of the Year, and the CAAPP Book Prize from the University of Pittsburgh. In her publication blurb for the book, legendary poet Nikki Giovanni called Bush "a young genius blooming in our hills here in West Virginia."

In addition to the reading, Bush will present a master class on poetry that transcends or weaves together the personal and the universal at 6pm, also in Blackington 131.
