Fidelio. On Wednesday, Dec. 10, enter the forbidden dream world of Stanley Kubrick’s EYES WIDE SHUT (1999) — presented in its uncensored, unrated version for one night only at the Gap Theatre. Kubrick’s final and most mysterious film pulls back the mask on desire, jealousy, and the hidden rituals of the rich and damned. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman star as a Manhattan couple whose marriage unravels into a nightmarish odyssey of sex, secrecy, and obsession beneath the city’s glittering surface.
A hypnotic mix of eroticism and paranoia, EYES WIDE SHUT is Kubrick’s haunting farewell — a slow burn of sensual danger that feels like a waking dream you can’t escape. Step inside... but remember, once the masks go on, nothing is what it seems.
