Winchester Swing Dance is hosting a swing dance lesson from 7:00 - 7:30 pm, followed by open social dancing from 7:30 - 9:00 pm.
The lesson will be for beginners. We plan to cover the 6-count footwork and a couple of moves to get you started!
The social dancing portion is unstructured. We will play a variety of swing music that you can dance to.
The lesson and social dancing will be held in the Collaboratory, in Shenandoah University's Hazel Pruitt Armory (also known as the HIVE). Parking is available on site.
This event is open to SU students, faculty, and staff, as well as the general public (e.g., Winchester community). Adults 18 years or older.
No experience and no partner necessary!

Entry Fees:
SU students/faculty/staff = Free (must show school ID)
General Public = $10 (cash or Venmo only)
All fees go toward the room rental, water, food, and vendors/bands for future dance events (such as our big band event with the Silver Tones Swing Band in November).

At your first lesson, there will be a waiver to sign, so please come early to get checked in and settled. (After that, we'll keep a record and just check the waiver record each time you attend.)
It is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes, such as sneakers or flats, or dance shoes if you have them.
