WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE RECEPTION GROUND?
Due to the sponsorship we have secured, we are able to help make it an affordable afternoon out. Not only will you be entertained by the marching bands, the parade floats and walking groups during the STREET PARADE (don’t forget to help fill the collecting buckets with your donations), but you can also enjoy the live entertainment on our PERFORMANCE STAGE at the recreation ground.
WHAT’S ON THE PERFORMANCE STAGE?
We have our international award winning headline act, RUMSOAKED - covering Rock & Pop, plus SODAPOPS - covering music from the 1940 to modern, and CHUGS Ukulele players. This entertainment is all lined up for an afternoon of musical delight.

In the arena we will be entertained by The Sapphire Stage Academy. FREE TO ENJOY will be the Classic Cars on display, the Dutch Musical Barrell Organ, Jonathan the Jester with circus skills, Mr Merlin and Okey Dokey the Dragon.
You can watch the popular Dog Show, coordinated by our friends at Hillside Veterinary Centre. We have also been able to SUBSIDIES SOME ACTIVITIES, with two face painters charging only £3.50 per child, Crazy Golf at just £2 and Model Train Rides for a pound.
PLUS there is so much more there on the afternoon.
WHAT ABOUT FOOD & DRINK?
Don’t worry, we have plenty of options for you to choose from. Our Food Village has a selection of food traders for you to buy lunch and snacks from. We have burger vans, a hog roast & bbq, pizzas, pancakes, sweet stalls, donuts and ice-creams. We have hot drink outlets, PLUS you can buy a pint or two at The Gartell Arms - our Carnival Bar, named in honour of our founder, the late Kathleen Gartell - Cheers, Kathleen🍻. Our Food Village will be located near our Performance Stage, so take a seat on a hay bale, enjoy the music and fill your tummies.
The Carnival Tea Tent will have a massive selection of cakes, for you to enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee. Thank you all the volunteers who have baked for us, creating these delicious treats.
Our Grand Draw Gazebo will have tickets for sale and the draw will take place towards the end of the afternoon. We have a GREAT SELECTION OF PRIZES up for grabs, many donated by local businesses. Proceeds go to our charities.
