Identifying and Appreciating Trees - A Guided Walk

Come along for a walk in the Woodcock forest to learn some tree identification as we head into autumn! September is a great time to learn about trees, as we anticipate the brilliant colors they will soon display before dropping their leaves. There is also a lot to notice aside from the leaves that trees are dropping and displaying this time of year, such as the oft appreciated acorn. Together we will learn how to identify a variety of the tree species that can be found here in Connecticut, as well as learn a bit more about what makes trees so fascinating!


This walk will be led by Woodcock educator Tommy McCarthy and is in partnership with the Ridgefield Conservation Commission.
