CALL FOR ARTISTS: Gather your work team, your friends, or your family and design a hydrant for everyone to enjoy when they visit Historic Downtown Wilson. This year's Paint-A-Hydrant is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, BUT the application deadline is Friday, August 15 at 5 p.m. so we have time to approve designs and prep the hydrants for painting.
Paint-A-Hydrant is a public art project benefiting the Fight for Me Foundation, which supports Wilson County firefighters—both paid and volunteer—who risk their lives daily to protect our community.
Firefighters put others first, often at great personal risk. One call can change everything, leading to life-altering injuries and unexpected financial hardship. With rising healthcare and living costs, our local heroes need our support more than ever.
The Fight for Me Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, exists to provide that help—when they need it most.
There is a $100 adoption fee for each hydrant. Complete details and form can be found at www.wilsonarts.com/hydrant.
This project is sponsored by the City of Wilson, Historic Downtown Wilson, and Wilson Arts.
