TEA 101 SCHEDULE:

TEA 102 SCHEDULE:

• Saturday, September 27 (11:00am - 5:00 pm)
• Sunday, September 28 (9:00 am - 5:00 pm)
• If you are only planning on taking 102, you must have already taken TEA 101

T EA 101: Introduction to Tea

This course will provide an introduction on the history of the origin of tea. You will learn how to differentiate the types of tea as well as the tea grading standards used in the industry.

T EA 102: Regions of the World

Students will examine in detail the principal tea-growing regions of the world. Develop a fundamental understanding of tea – its evolution and its influence on culture and world events.

NOTES:

• Pre-requisite: TEA 101
• Registration includes printed course material
• This is an intensive program and both TEA 101 & 102 will be covered over the 3-days, including tastings, presentations, blind tasting and multiple choice exam. In light of this, students will be sent digital copies of the course books two weeks before class starts.
• If a student fails a portion of the testing, they will not be required to retake the entire course. Rather they will have the opportunity to re-take that portion at a future in-person session.

Karen Donnelly is a Certified THAC Tea Sommelier® and the in-person instructor for the Tea Sommelier® program in Delaware and Pennsylvania (United States). With over 30 years of experience as a writer, speaker, and educator, Karen writes the Cuisine page for The Tea House Times magazine and is a regular contributor to the Tea & Herbal Association of Canada's sip Magazine. She also serves as the President of the Mid-Atlantic Tea Business Association.
