Field Naming Ceremony: Sam Bowens Memorial Field

The City of Wilmington's Parks & Recreation Department proudly invites you to the Field Naming Ceremony in honor of Wilmington native, and professional baseball player, Sam Bowens.

Sam Bowens Memorial Field will be dedicated at Robert Strange Park to celebrate the legacy of an extraordinary athlete - and Williston High School graduate - who broke barriers, inspired generations, and brought pride to our community.

Location: Robert Strange Park, 401 S. 8th Street (Currently Field No. 1)

Date & Time: Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM
