🧭 FAQ – What You Need to Know
❓ Do I have to join both Auto Extrication AND LandSAR?
Nope! You can choose the team that suits your interest and comfort level. While some members are cross-trained, most focus on one area.
❓ I work shift work. Can I still volunteer?
Yes! We understand life gets busy. Just communicate your availability and stay up-to-date with your training officer. Every hour you give counts.
❓ What does the Auto Extrication team do?
They respond to serious motor vehicle incidents and perform life-saving rescues using tools like the Jaws of Life, with training in emergency rope rescue, emergency driving, and more.
❓ What does the LandSAR team do?
Our LandSAR team responds to missing person searches, and rescues of people, both regionally and across BC. Training includes ground search techniques, ATVs, snowmobiles, high angle rope rescue, swift water rescue, flat ice rescue, helicopter operations, and more!
