The 1893 World's Columbian Exposition: A Legacy

Travel back in time to arguably one of the most influential events of the late 19th century. More than 27 million people attended the 1893 Columbian Exposition World's Fair, hosted in Chicago, including many prominent individuals of the time as well as others who would play important roles in the country's future. From the Ferris Wheel to pancake mix, learn about some of the many inventions and products first showcased at the Fair that we still enjoy today. Wisconsin historian and paleontologist Jason Rehorst will discuss the people, things, and stories that came together to make this event one of the most significant of its time.
