Wir freuen uns, dass zum ersten Mal Maestro Tugan Sokhiev das Konzert leiten und der Opernsänger Piotr Beczała als Solist zu hören sein wird. Er wird drei Arien singen - aus Georges Bizets Carmen, aus Giacomo Puccinis Turandot und aus Emmerich Kálmáns Operette Gräfin Mariza. Erstmals werden auch die Wiener Sängerknaben beim Sommernachtskonzert mitwirken.
„Die Idee, Klassik für Alle zu ermöglichen und damit ein Geschenk an alle Musikbegeisterten zu machen, prägt bis heute das Sommernachtskonzert. Der Schwerpunkt des diesjährigen Programms liegt auf bekannten Opern- und Operettenmelodien und führt uns musikalisch durch verschiedene europäische Landschaften und Stimmungen.
Wir widmen in diesem Jahr Otto Nicolais Ouvertüre zur Oper "Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor" dem Jubiläum 25 Jahre Haus der Musik. Im Jahr 2000 entstand dort im ehemaligen Wohnhaus unseres Orchestergründers Otto Nicolai das Museum der Wiener Philharmoniker, und das Historische Archiv des Orchesters wurde ins Haus übersiedelt. Seit damals verbindet uns eine enge und wichtige Partnerschaft," so der Vorstand der Wiener Philharmoniker Daniel Froschauer.

The 22nd Summer Night Concert will take place in the Schönbrunn Palace Park on June 13, 2025, at 8:45 PM.
Free entrance - no tickets are required for attending the concert!
For the first time this year's concert will be conducted by Maestro Tugan Sokhiev and features as vocal soloist the opera singer Piotr Beczała, who will perform three arias – from Georges Bizet's Carmen, Giacomo Puccini's Turandot and Emmerich Kálmán's operetta Gräfin Mariza. For the first time, the Vienna Boys Choir will participate in the Summer Night Concert.
According to Vienna Philharmonic Daniel Froschauer, “The concept of presenting classical music to the widest possible audience as a gift to music enthusiasts everywhere has characterized this event since its inception. The focus of this year's program is on well-known melodies from opera and operetta that lead us on a musical journey through various European landscapes und milieus. This year we dedicate Otto Nicolai's Overture to the Opera "The Merry Wives of Windsor" to the 25th anniversary of Vienna's Haus der Musik. There, in the former residence of our orchestra's founder, Otto Nicolai, the Museum of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Historical Archives of the Vienna Philharmonic were relocated in the year 2000. Since that time, we have enjoyed a close and important partnership with the Haus der Musik."
