Morrissey’s influence and music legacy are irrefutable. Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in British pop and one of the greatest lyricists of his generation, Morrissey has thirteen solo studio albums, a string of No.1 records, and an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British music. As the lead singer of The Smiths, he marked music history with only four albums. Morrissey’s acclaimed catalogue has garnered 15 UK Top Ten solo albums, including Viva Hate, Bona Drag, K*ll Uncle, Your Arsenal, Vauxhall and I, Southpaw Grammar, Maladjusted, You Are the Quarry, Greatest Hits, Ringleader of the Tormentors, Years of Refusal, World Peace Is None of Your Business, Low in High School, California Son, and I Am Not a Dog on a Chain, with three number 1s across three different decades. He also has two U.S. Top Ten solo albums, California Son and Low in High School. His 2013 Autobiography on Penguin Classics remained at #1 for six weeks in England, plus five weeks at #2. For some inexplicable reason, Morrissey and The Smiths are NOT in the Rock and Roll or Songwriters Hall of Fame.
