Last year, Samaritans volunteers and over 500 supporters gathered in the stunning surroundings of Avondale Forest Park for the first Hand of Friendship Walk. Led by the late Charlie Bird, it was a day filled with community. A moment that will live in our hearts forever. 💚
This September, we return once again to Avondale.
Walkers, please join us, there are two options!
The River Walk offers an energetic 5km route with some climbs and inclines. Along the way, you’ll be treated to magnificent river views against the backdrop of the Wicklow Mountains, the Avonmore River, and the Vale of Avoca. (Strong footwear recommended!)
The Multi-Access Loop offers a convenient 1.2km option, fully suitable for wheelchairs, buggies, and age-friendly walkers. Benches are dotted along the way for resting and soaking in the forest’s beauty.
