Bug-Catching Hike @ Pawnee Prairie Park

Learn how to use sweep nets, aerial nets, flip a good rock, and log your observations to help with citizen science. This informal hike is simple: find a good bug, show it off, and release.

Nets provided by us but feel free to bring your own bug-catching supplies. Recommended to wear comfortable shoes, long pants, hat. Expect about 1.5 miles of walking depending on group pace (spoiler: we never get very far). No pets please.

This program is part of our partnership this year with the City of Wichita’s Park and Recreation Department to expand programming in City parks. We’re excited to get people outside to bird, catch bugs, nature journal, and more.
