Adventure after dark!
Join us for a special New Moon Star Party — an evening under the stars filled with stargazing, telescopes, and celestial discoveries. With minimal moonlight, it’s the perfect time to enjoy the brilliance of the night sky, observe constellations, planets, and deep space wonders, and learn from experienced sky watchers.
Gather in the open field across from the Group Rec Hall — just follow the solar lights to the viewing area. Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or a curious first timer, this event offers a fun and relaxed way to explore the universe.
Larry Smith, retired NP Ranger and a volunteer will be on hand with telescopes and sky maps to guide your journey through the cosmos.
What to Bring:
• Blanket or lawn chair
• Red flashlight or headlamp (to protect night vision) - OPTIONAL
• Binoculars or telescope (if you have them) - OPTIONAL
• Bug spray and jacket or layers (it can cool off after dark)
• Water and snacks
• Curiosity and wonder!
