In this engaging hand knitting for beginners workshop, you'll dive into the world of knitting and acquire essential skills to create your projects. Led by skilled textile artist and tutor Liane Ging, you'll explore the following:
Learning the basics of knitting
Discovering how to hold the knitting needles and yarn
Mastering casting on and off techniques
Progressing from basic knit stitch to purl, moss, and rib stitches based on each learners ability
Don't worry if you're new to knitting – this workshop provides a supportive and relaxed environment where you'll feel at ease as you learn. All materials will be provided, so there's no need to bring anything along. You'll receive workshop handouts to guide you during the session and to take home for future reference.
Everyone will learn a basic knit stich on chunky needles. Some learners will progress onto purl, moss & rib Stitches. Every learner, learns at a different pace.
By the end of the workshop, you will hopefully leave with the skills and confidence to embark on your knitting journey independently.
