🎉 One-Year-Out—Let’s celebrate!
We’re counting down to the Yukon’s inaugural fringe-style theatre festival in October 2026, and we couldn’t wait that long to celebrate. So we’re throwing a One-Year-Out party—Fringe-style!
💡 What’s “Fringe-style”? Think bold, unconventional, and often unorthodox. Fringe festivals worldwide are where theatre, comedy, dance, music, and wild experiments collide. Anyone can throw their name in the hat, performances are drawn by lottery, and the result is uncensored and unpredictable!
✨ Here’s how this One-Year-Out teaser event works:
🎬 We select ONE famous movie based on YOUR votes.
🎭 Up to 6 different performing groups are each given a different segment of that movie.
🎤 They reinvent and perform their scenes however they want—serious, silly, musical, puppet-show, shadow-play… anything goes.
🎉 Then we stitch it all together for one epic live mash-up on stage!
No one (including us!) knows exactly what’s going to happen—that’s the fun. The audience shapes the show through your votes and your energy.

This isn’t just a wild night of theatre—it’s a celebration. We’re officially one year away from our inaugural festival in October 2026. This One-Year-Out event is your sneak peek at the adventurous spirit that fringe theatre festivals have to offer! There will be movie-themed selfie backgrounds, concessions, and pre-show shenanigans to be had!

🎭 Performers Wanted!
Want to be part of the chaos? We’re looking for up to 6 performing groups (solo artists or teams) to take on a movie segment.

No experience? No problem! In the true spirit of Fringe:
- Rough edges are welcome AND encouraged.
- Big sets and fancy costumes aren’t required (inventiveness counts more than budget). Think minimal sets and shoestring props.
- First-timers, grassroots artists, and anyone with a creative spark—we want you.
- Surprise us, delight us, make us laugh—or break our hearts—in your own unique way.
Think of it like play, improv, and community spirit rolled into one. Comedy, drama, dance, music, spoken word, puppets, movement, clown, mash-ups… or whatever unique twist you can imagine.
