From where I’m standing: an exhibition by DJ Norwood

In “From where I’m standing…,” Norwood reconnects with the Hampshire river banks, applying the same meticulous approach: one roll of film, hourly observations, and a fixed vantage point. Through this process, he captures the essence of the river’s ever-changing nature, echoing Heraclitus’ wisdom: “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is not the same man.”

Each piece in the exhibition represents a day’s observation, enriched by detailed note-taking, adding layers of personal reflection and wonder. “From where I’m standing…” invites viewers to immerse themselves in the tranquillity and beauty of the landscape, offering a unique perspective on the passage of time and the artist’s evolving relationship with nature.
