One of the most exciting events of the Summer🌟 A fun and vibrant day is going to be happening at the Sunshine & Stalls Market at Cullen Gardens. This outdoor event is the perfect way to spend your Saturday, with local vendors, live music, and the beauty of Cullen Gardens as your backdrop.
The historic Cullen Gardens, now called Cullen Park, located just outside of Whitby, Ontario, is a picturesque venue known for its lush gardens, stunning landscaping, and serene atmosphere. The Gardens opened on the corner of Cochrane and Taunton in Whitby in May 1980 by founder Len Cullen and his wife Connie, and the Gardens were a major tourist attraction in Whitby for families for 25 years. Lovely memories myself of the place, hence why I picked it!
Len started in landscaping, but was a visionary, building a nursery farm, and then a chain of retail centres. 1/12th scale world of replicas featuring local homes, farms, businesses and amusement attractions with a mini scale railway display criss-crossing the ‘town,' Leonard Cullen’s ideas proudly presented vibrant coloured floral gardens and the sound of young children’s voices as the backdrop. Old historic houses lined the left drive on Cochrane. Though closed in 2005 when Thermea was built at the main building, many features have been kept and remain. Cullen Park features a few of the old buildings, the ‘Kissing Bridge,’ circle pad (with great view) adjacent to Thermea, a tennis court, pickleball court, walking and biking trails and more.
The market will take place in this beautiful setting, with a variety of unique, locally-sourced products to explore, delicious treats to sample, and entertainment to enjoy. There will also be a cool raffle!

The market will feature an icecream schoolbus, face painting, local vendors with a wide array of handcrafted goods, artisanal products, food vendors with local treats, all available for you to browse and purchase.
