Korean Cultural Center of Chicago will hold the special Taegeukgi exhibition and history lecture in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Korea’s Liberation
For the first time ever, two historic Taegeukgi from the KCCoC Museum’s collection will be unveiled to the public!
To celebrate this milestone, the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago (KCCoC) will present a specially curated Taegeukgi (Korean national flag) exhibition, alongside an engaging lecture on Korean history.
The exhibition will run from August 9th to 20th at the KCCoC Gallery and will showcase two historically significant Taegeukgi:
A rare, square-shaped Taegeukgi with over 100 years of history, preserved in the KCCoC's museum collection.
A Taegeukgi with a 70-year legacy, generously donated in 2021 by Honorary Consul General Bo-ra Chung.
In addition, the exhibition will feature the Taegeukgi Education Box provided by the Independence Hall of Korea, offering visitors a unique and immersive learning experience.
